Camping Sangria Recipe

Camping Sangria Recipe

Let me just start out by saying that this goes down a little too easily! I highly recommend making lots of friends around the campsite and sharing this tasty little beverage. Especially if you plan to eat any of the fruit, a cup or two will be plenty. Trust me. OK, so this recipe is specifically designed to travel; you'll just need a quart-sized mason jar, a 1-gallon pitcher and a wine cork. Here's how to create your batch:

Ingredients:
2 peaches, sliced
8-10 strawberries, sliced
1 cup of white or red grapes
1 (750ml) bottle of white or red wine
1 (750ml) bottle of vodka (you will have leftover)
1-liter of Fresca (You can try other soda flavors too!)

Directions
1. Fill up the mason jar with peaches, strawberries and grapes.

2. Pour in vodka a 1/4 of the way up the jar. Fill up the remainder of the jar with wine; cork the rest of your wine.

3. Chill sangria concentrate overnight or at least for several hours.

4. Pack up the sangria concentrate, 1-liter bottle of Fresca and remaining wine in an insulated bag. When you get to the campsite, mix all 3 together in the pitcher and enjoy!

Remember to drink responsibly!

Pink Sherbet Punch Recipe

Baby Shower Pink Sherbet Punch Recipe

If you are looking for baby shower punch ideas, you've come to the right place! I actually first made this pink sherbet punch for my daughter's first birthday party. I used the colors pink and green to decorate, so this made a nice edible decoration. The kids and adults both loved it! It later occurred to me that this would be a great punch for baby showers, too. In fact, I just recently served this sherbet punch for a friend's baby shower.... she's having her 6th kid! I really don't know how she does it but anywho, I digress. Here's the recipe. Super. Easy. Just two ingredients:

Ingredients
1 (2 liter) bottle raspberry ginger ale
1 tub pink raspberry sherbet

Directions
1. Add raspberry sherbet to punch bowl then slowly pour ginger ale over top about 5-10 minutes before serving.

Like my punch bowl? It's actually a dessert bowl! So you can also use it for layered dips, candy, snacks, etc.. Great if you have limited storage space, like me.

Rainbow Sherbert Punch Recipe

My grandma used to make this sherbert punch every year at our Christmas party for the kids and a spiked version for the adults. It's a simple recipe:

1 tub rainbow sherbert
2 liters of raspberry ginger ale

ADULTS ONLY:) - Spike with vodka

Empty tub of sherbert into a punch bowl and slowly pour ginger ale over the top.

Miami Beach Mojito Recipe

Holy crap, I can't believe I actually used to LIVE just blocks away from where this photo was taken. Well, this is pretty much the view from any Ocean Drive cafe where you can sip on a Mojito—in January—and look across the street at palm trees and clear blue water. You may well also see a few overly tan, middle-aged ladies in a bikinis on roller blades, half-nkaed guys with tranquilized snakes around their neck and tourists on Segues.

I am still perfecting my mojito mixer, but this is as good as I've gotten so far. Let me know if you have a better recipe!

3-4 mint leaves (remove stems)
1 tspn cane sugar
3/4 whole fresh squeezed lime
2oz white rum
2oz club soda

Garnish
1 stick sugar cane
1/4 lime
1 mint leaf

Grind mint leaves with cane sugar & lime juice until well mixed; stir in rum. Top off with club soda. Grnish with sugar kane stick, slice of lime (add if desired) and 1 mint leaf.
